RAAM Qualifiers -- The Women

Impressive rides from the women this year. These three women slotted top ten finishes and RAAM-qualifying times.

Andrea Koenig, Denver, Colorado, USA outbound at the Byers control

Andrea, a local Rocky Mountain Cycling Club rider, is the closest we may ever get to a native of the course. She grew up in Yuma, Colorado, 32 miles north of Joes (on the route between Cope and Idalia). It's over an hour of driving according to Google maps, but when the north wind and dust storms whipped up on Friday morning her dad made a last minute decision to come down to do whatever he could, and made it in half an hour. Excited, or does he always drive that way?

Sharon Stevens, Richardson, Texas, USA, after her finish

Vickie Tyer, Grandview, Texas, at dawn in Idalia

Sharon and Vickie of the Lone Star Randonneurs were the last ones to arrive in town as mentioned earlier. We sure are glad they made it!
